Henry Wallace Pearson was born on Nov. 20, 1928, in New York, N.Y., to Anders Henrik Persson and Clara Emelia Antonson, both immigrants from Sweden. He passed away on Oct. 17, 2016, at Amery, Wis. Henry graduated from Seattle Pacific University and North Park Theological Seminary in Chicago, Ill., with a Master of Divinity. He met Lillian Marie Ericson while in Chicago and they married in 1957 at Malmo, Alberta, Canada. In 1959, Henry was ordained as a minister in the Evangelical Covenant Church. While a pastor, he served churches in Minnesota, Canada and Alaska. His last eight years in the ministry were spent as superintendent overseeing Covenant churches in Alaska. After he retired in 1994, he helped to start and was a charter member of Community Covenant Church in Eagle River, Alaska. Henry loved doing artwork, camping and playing ping-pong, and he had a wonderful sense of humor. He loved people. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lillian Pearson of Amery, Wis.; daughter, Catherine Christensen (Scott) of Baudette, Minn.; son, Gordon Pearson of Amery, Wis.; son, Daniel Pearson (Leah) of Clear Lake, Wis.; and grandchildren, Peter and Luke Christensen, Anne Bernard (TJ) and Clara, Isaac and John Pearson; and many other relatives in Alaska, Washington, Canada and Sweden. A memorial service will be held at Community Covenant Church in Eagle River, Alaska, on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016, at 2 p.m. You may sign an online guest book and view a video tribute at www.williamsonwhite.com.
