Herbert Carter Dwyer, 93, of Madison, formerly of Elkwood, died Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Countryside Home in Madison. He was born November 19, 1919 in Elkwood to the late Herbert and Birdie Soutter Dwyer.
Mr. Dwyer was known to many as “Pat”. He was a self taught philosopher through his experiences and life. He was known to say the darndest things and had a “name” for everyone.
He is survived by four children; Irma Dwyer Whitlock and her husband, Jerry of Elkwood, William P. Dwyer and his wife, Martha Hope of Elkwood, Herbert E. Dwyer and his wife, Mary of Brandy Station, Ronald E. Dwyer of MA; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Gay Dwyer; one daughter, Dorothy Elizabeth Dwyer; four brothers and four sisters.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 from 7 to 9 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 11 am at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Pastor Lee Brown officiating.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
