Cies, Rev. Herbet A 97, passed away on Nov. 18, 2016. Preceded by his parents Herbert and Florence(Furness), a brother Carol, sisters Lylith Sullivan, Mary West and Lynn Bowers, his wife Eva Lucile, his son Edwin Lee, step-son Dan Tanner, step-daughter Martha Cahal. Herbert was born on February 23, 1919 in Wichita, Kansas. He served his country five years in the 6th Armored Division Army Tank Corps, Combat Command as a Captain in Communications in France, Germany and Luxemburg. Herb met and married Eva Lucile Hower Tanner. Herb and Eva lived their remaining years, since 1993, at Asbury Park in Newton, KS. Survivors include his step-children James Tanner of Hemet, California, and Donna Mourey and family of Newton; his grandson, A.J. Cies; step- grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Services will be held at the Chapel of Asbury Park on Tuesday, Nov. 22nd at 2 p.m. A memorial has been established with the Asbury Park Good Samaritan Fund, contributions may be sent to Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, Wichita, KS.
