Herefords So Yin Wong, 82, of San Francisco, California, passed on September 17, 2021. Herefords So Yin was born on December 15, 1938.

Herefords was born to Lyman Wong and Nung Yu Wong, December 15, 1938, in Taishan, Guangdong (Canton), China. He graduated from Eton English Preparatory School in Hong Kong. He married Jenny Mui Yue in 1962, came to the U.S. in 1970 and they lived together in San Francisco, California. Together they raised 6 children.

He is survived by wife Jenny of 59 years and leaves as his legacy 6 children: Marilyn, Lillian, Linda, Andrew, Henry (Queena), and Steven. Grandfather to 6 grandchildren: Selena (Kyle), Chelsea (Roosevelt), Soleia, Monica, Alex and Vanessa. Great grandfather to Daniella and Enzo. His children remember him as a loving and devoted husband and father.

He was the youngest of 5 siblings.

Hereford was a doorman until he retired in 2004, and was passionate about affecting the most positive change in people.

Funeral service is scheduled for October 16, 2021, at 10 a.m. at Evergreen of McAvoy O’Hara Mortuary, located at 4545 Geary Blvd, San Francisco, California. Memorial supper will follow at Tai Yuan Restaurant, King Plaza Center, 950 King Drive, #100, Daly City, CA 94015. Pastor Daniel Goh will officiate the ceremony.
