Herman “Rabbit” Rembert, 90, of Christiansted, Saint Croix Island, passed on March 31, 2023. Herman was born on May 16, 1932. He was a son of the late George and Jainey Davis Rembert. At an early age, he accepted Christ and joined Shepherd United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the gospel choir, senior choir, and United Methodist Men. Herman was co-founder of the Golden Gate Singers. He served a tour of duty in the U.S. Army during World War II, during which time he was awarded three Bronze Service Stars, a Good Conduct Medal, and a Victory Medal. Herman was a member of the VA Chapter No. 5, the International Masonic Lodge No. 35 and the Broad Street Burial League. He was employed with VB Williams for several years and later became employed with Santee Print, from which he retired in 1985.
