Herman Tittle ByrneSevierville, NCHerman Tittle Byrne, 87, passed away on June 16, 2017 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born on September 5, 1929. He was a member of the Smokey Mountain Church of Christ in Pigeon Forge. He attended David Lipscomb College and returned home to Gallatin, TN, where he was a dairy farmer. After leaving farming in 1954, he worked for the W.T. Grant Co. He managed several stores and was District Manager for the Southern Region and was appointed to the Managers Council for the company. After 20 years with the company, he resigned and bought Newport Hardware in Newport, TN. which he and his wife, Ruth Byrne operated for 15 years.He was preceded in death by his parents, John Byrne and Hattie Tittle Byrne, and his siblings: Will Franklin Curtis, Carrie Bartlett, Floy Wooten, Mary Jennings, Anna Sue Haile, Mattie Mai Carr, and John Byrne.He is survived by his wife, Ruth Duncan Byrne; his three children: Yvonne Beyer of Pigeon Forge, TN, Gail Byrne of Olive Branch, MS, Marty Byrne of Seymour, TN.; and his grandchildren: Bethany Drury and husband Kyle of Nashville, TN, Lauren Crabtree, of Chicago, Il., and Brandon Beyer, of Murfreesboro, TN.Visitation is Tuesday, June 20th, from 3 pm to 5 pm, at the Smokey Mountain Church of Christ in Pigeon Forge, Tn. The memorial service by Al Behel will be followed by the burial service at Middle Creek Cemetery.Memorials may be made to the Smokey Mountain Church of Christ Building Foundation.
