Hidalia Castillo passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2018 in Athens at the age of 85. She was born in La Ceiba, Honduras on August 17, 1932. Beloved wife of the late Alejandro Rodriguez for 14 years. Mother of Alejandro, Idalia, Cesar, Rigoberto, Myrna, Leslie, Ivette and Oralia. Daughter of the late Arturo Castillo and Rosalba Velazquez. Also survived by 21 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
She was a Devout Christian, loved to cook, garden, draw and sew. She was an avid storyteller. When she got older and couldn’t garden anymore, she took pleasure feeding the birds in the backyard and spending time with Dizzle, the family beagle.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at Jackson McWhorter Funeral Home,1253 West Broad St. Athens, GA 30606, September 17, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. East Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
