BURLINGTON - Hieron B. Bauman, age 96, of Burlington, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Pine Brook Pointe. He was born on October 20, 1915 in Burlington, to the late Bruno and Emma (nee Reesman) Bauman. Hieron was a lifetime resident of Burlington and a graduate of Burlington High School. On October 27, 1937 at St. Charles Catholic Church Hieron was united in marriage to Mary Agnes Ebbers. Mary preceded Hieron in death on January 3, 1998. Hieron had been a dairy farmer for 50 years and later worked for 10 years at Wisconsin Electric, retiring at the age of 70. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus where he was the treasurer and recording secretary for many years. Hieron loved playing cards and had belonged to many card clubs over the years. He enjoyed his rose garden and wood working, making carved rocking horses, bear doorstops, toy chests and hope chests. Hieron is survived by his loving children; Bruce (Joyce) Bauman of Burlington, Tom (Karen) Bauman of Burlington, Larry (Sandy) Bauman of Lyons and Marie Blais of Park Forest, IL, son-in-law Tony Mich of Paris Township, 19 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, daughters; Dorie Klein and Jeanne Mich, granddaughter Mary Bauman, great-granddaughter Harley Klein and by a son-in-law Sam Blais. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at12:30 PM at St. Charles Catholic Church with Rev. Steve Amann officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family at the CHURCH on Saturday, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon. Burial will take place at St. Charles Catholic Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to St. Charles Catholic Church.
