Hilda Hartley, 94, of Salisbury passed away on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016 at Autumn Care of Salisbury. Hilda was born on Sept. 13, 1922, in Fairfax County, Va., to the late Della Burner and the late Gus Loy. Hilda worked for the government as a blueprint reader. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and loved to travel with her husband Fred. She worked several years as a volunteer at Novant Rowan Regional Medical Center delivering flowers. She was a member of Providence United Methodist Church for thirty years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Thomas Hartley, who passed on Aug. 15, 2005; her grandson, Travis Cross; four brothers; and two sisters. Left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Connie Keys and Christine Cross both of Salisbury; brother, Albert Loy of Garden City, Mich.; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. Special thanks to the staff at Autumn Care for the excellent care and love that they gave to Hilda. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed by all. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donors' choice charity in Hilda's honor. Visitation: 11 a.m. - 12 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 15, at Providence United Methodist Church, 6450 Bringle Ferry Road, Salisbury, NC 28146. Service: 12 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 15, at Providence United Methodist Church with the Rev. Aldana Allen officiating. Burial will immediately follow. Lyerly Funeral Home is serving the Hartley family.
