Jansen, Hollister "Holly"Hollister "Holly" Jansen, 82, Green Bay, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2016 with his family by his side. He was born on November 28, 1933 to the late James and Jeanette (Vanden Bosch) Jansen in Fox Lake, WI. He graduated from Fox Lake High School in 1951. He then attended Wisconsin State College in LaCrosse, graduating with his Bachelor's Degree in 1955. Upon graduation, Holly served for two years in the U.S Army before returning to Wisconsin State College for his Master's Degree. On August 17, 1957 he married Donna Mucha in Beaver Dam, WI.Holly worked for 37 years in the Green Bay Public School System as both an educator and administrator, with his final 17 years as principal at Green Bay West High School. In 1985 he was selected as Wisconsin Principal of the year and in 2001 he became the 58th person to receive the Excellence Award from UW-LaCrosse.Holly had a strong commitment to his faith and was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Green Bay serving as church elder for 12 years, clerk of session for six of those years, and many years serving as a leader to youth. After his 1994 retirement, he served as interim principal at Oconto Falls High School, served several years as a disaster relief volunteer for FEMA and administered programs for CESA. He enjoyed spending time with family, traveling, relaxing at the lake and bird watching. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Donna; children, Kathryn (Greg) Horn of Philadelphia, James (Lori) Jansen of Green Bay, Nancy (David) Beardsley of Geneva, IL and John Jansen of Green Bay; grandchildren, Jenna (fiance', Michael Mandale) Horn, Kate Horn, Abby Jansen, Brooke (Gio) DiDomenico and Andrew Beardsley; great granddaughter, Giuliana DiDomenico; as well as many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Jane Marie Jansen and sister, Loise Roberts.Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at First Presbyterian Church, 200 S. Ashland Ave., from 9:30 am to 12 pm. The funeral service will be held at 12 pm with Rev. Randy Argall officiating. Military Honors are to follow. Burial will take place at Riverside Memorial Park in Fox Lake, WI. Online condolences may be expressed at www.lyndahl.com.
