Holly “Loretta” Stauffer (Hamilton), 64, of Charlestown, Maryland, embraced eternal peace on January 20, 2024. Born on June 2, 1959, in Elkton, Md, to Hollie Hamilton and Glenna Borden (Slone). Loretta split her time growing up between Rising Sun, Md and Betsy Layne, Ky. She always felt a strong connection with Kentucky but eventually settled her own family in Charlestown, Md. Loretta prided herself on a strong work ethic and worked at Aberdeen Proving Ground, alongside her mother, for many years where she received multiple awards and honors for her hard work. A strong believer in God, she never turned away anyone in need. Her laugh was infectious and unmistakable and her love for Conway Twitty was immense. Loretta loved talking with friends and drinking coffee but never took any sugar because, in her words, “I’m sweet enough.” Her children and grandchildren were her everything and she was theirs. Loretta is survived by her two sons, Richie Fulks (Katrina), North East, Md. and John Stauffer (Chrissy), Millington, Md. brothers Vincent Hamilton and James Hamilton both of Kentucky. Grandchildren, Austin, Madison, Joey, Collin, John, Morgan, Kohen, and great-granddaughter Jaylah. Loretta was preceded in death by her father, Hollie, mother, Glenna, and ex-husband, James “Boots” Stauffer. Our mother taught us to find joy in life's simplest pleasures. Her memory will forever be cherished, and her absence deeply felt by many. She has found eternal serenity in the gentle embrace of the Lord. As per her wishes, a private memorial will be held with immediate family at a later date.
