Holton J. Wolcott Jr. died July 11, 2013 in his sleep. He was known by his family and friends as "Hobo." Hobo was born on the 1st of September 1927 in Shreveport Louisiana, to Katherine and Holton Wolcott Sr. Hobo graduated from C.E. Byrd High School in 1945, where he immediately joined the U.S. Marine Corp. Hobo served in China and during the Korean War. Between his active duty in China and Korea Hobo attended Centenary Collage in Shreveport. He was a member of the China Marine Association, Houston Inventors Association, American Legion Post 490, Houston Area League of P.C. Users, the Coast Guard Auxiliary and many other organizations throughout his life. Hobo attended Saint Pius V Catholic Church in Pasadena. Throughout his life he worked at many different jobs, including NASA, draftsman, machinist and others.
He is survived by his brother John and wife Peggy Wolcott; sister Janet Dickerson; brother George and wife Alice Matthews-Wolcott; brother-in-law Harvey Lane; daughter Danni and husband Terry Smith; son Holton (Beaux) and wife Karen Wolcott III; daughter Kathleen Wolcott; son James (Garland) and wife Christy Wolcott; son Gregory and wife Cindy Wolcott; daughter Liza McKinney; son Michael and wife Bonnie Wolcott; grandchildren Toka and husband Wally Mercado, Justin McKinney, Catherine and husband Adrian Sorapuru, Joshua Dooley, Kolton Wolcott, Victoria Wolcott, Mickaela Wolcott, Drew Wolcott, Parker Wolcott, Amelie Wolcott and Elliot Wolcott; great-grandchildren Jordan Mercado, Austin Mercado, Jayden Mercado, Michael Sorapuru and Mason Sorapuru; as well as a very large extended family. Hobo is preceded in death by his sister Joan Lane and daughter Terese Ann Wolcott.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00pm Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at Niday-Fairmont Funeral Home in Pasadena, with visitation two hours prior to the service, starting at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in memory of Holton J.
