It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Hugh Edward Raymo, a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend to many. Ed passed away peacefully on August 21, 2024, at the age of 86.
Born on June 2, 1938, in St. Louis, Missouri. He attended Catholic school as a child. After school Ed went on to serve his country in the United States Army, during the Vietnam War, where he earned commendations for his dedication and courage.
Following his military service, Ed returned to Missouri and pursued a career as a cabinet maker. Later in life, he relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada, where he spent his remaining years.
Outside of work, Ed was happiest in the company of family and friends, who he often considered as close as family. He enjoyed many days at the local casino, where playing poker became a cherished pastime.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Teresa Raymo; his wife, Vicky Raymo; his brothers, Raymond and Garland Raymo; and his sisters, Joyce Seifried, Beverly Raymo, and Gina Jordan.
He is survived by his sister, Trina Schira; his stepdaughter, Marilyn Mann; his many nieces and nephews: Danual Jordan, Artie Jordan, Art Raymo, Eric Kelley, Steve Raymo, Deanna Moore, Dora Ketterer, Brandy Seifried, Dawn Kelley, Karen Jackson, Tracy Raymo, Tonya Viox, and Sandy Gegg; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. He is also survived by many close friends who were like family, both through marriage and by the deep bonds they shared, including Leslie Jordan, wife of Danual, and Steve and Lori Lippia by marriage.
Ed’s family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate his life at a memorial service on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada.
Ed will be remembered for his generosity, his outgoing spirit, and his love of dancing—he never met a stranger. His kindness and joy live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by many!
