Hugh Hartman Johnson, 86, passed away on December 10, 2015, at Total Loving Care Assisted Living Home in New Caney, Texas. He was born on April 16, 1929 to Robert J. Johnson, Sr. and Eliza Cornell in Detroit, Michigan. Mr. Johnson was a Chief Master Sergeant in the U.S. Airforce and served tours in Korea and Vietnam. He was married to the late Verona Joy Schlupp Johnson for 42 years before she passed away in 1992. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife and great-grandchild, Gabe Johnson. Hugh and Verona had five children: Arthur Harry Johnson, who was killed in Vietnam, Edwin Charles Johnson(Leitha) of Texas, Nikki Leigh Johnson of Texas, Jay Hartman Johnson(Julie) of Florida, and Jamie Lynn Johnson Crouse(Michael) of Texas and Iowa, along with Arthur Jay Johnson of Mississippi. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson had six grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. After cremation at Darst Funeral Home in Kingwood, Texas, Mr. Johnson's cremated remains will be laid to rest next to his wife at the Southern Memorial Cemetery in Biloxi, Mississippi.
