Hurley D. Barker, Sr.1943 - 2014Hurley Barker Sr., 71, of Kenosha passed away on Sunday April 27, 2014, at UHS-St. Catherines.Hurley was born on March 1, 1943 in Arkansas, the son of the late Clifton and Fannie (Famous) Barker Sr. Hurley was educated in the schools of Arkansas and Kenosha. He married Norma Varnell on July 14, 1990, in Kenosha. Hurley was employed at AMC/Chrysler for 32 years. He was a member of New Brighter Day Baptist Church. His hobbies included fishing cooking, watching westerns, and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Norma Barker of Kenosha; children, Greg Barker of Arkansas, Michael Audridge of Kenosha, Kentay (Ericka) Varnell of Kenosha, Michelle (Jason) Wipperfurth of Whitewater, Wis., Hurley Dee Barker Jr. of Kenosha; a sister, Delores Jackson of Kenosha; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Hurley was preceded in death by a son, Julius Barker, brothers, Richard, Art, James, Clifton and Artus, and a sister, Maxine.A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2014, at New Brighter Day Baptist Church, 1225 25th Ave, Kenosha, WI 53140, from 9-11 a.m. with funeral services to follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be held Monday, May 5, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Green Ridge Cemetery.
