This obituary is administered by:
Ian SeivwrightMillington, TNIan Seivwright, 61, of Millington, TN passed away on June 30, 2017, at his home. He was born on March 5,1956 in Aberdeen, Scotland, and he and his family immigrated to the United States in 1970 where the young, charismatic Scotsman grew into a selfless, humble patriot.Everyone who had the pleasure of knowing Ian would describe him as a true hero. He dedicated his life to the service of other people both professionally and personally, and he always did it with unsurmountable energy and with a smile on his face that could light up any room. Ian was a Marine Corps veteran and was a former mentor and coach to the Millington High School soccer team. He currently served alongside his fellow brothers in red as a Division Chief with the Shelby County Fire Department. Ian's leadership roles spanned beyond his responsibilities as a fireman. He also served as the Pipe Major for both the Shelby County Sheriff's Office Pipes and Drums and Wolf River Pipes and Drums. In addition to his other accomplishments, Ian was the foundation of his family. He loved and served them with the utmost passion and respect. He considered his family his greatest achievement, and he would spend much of his time being the type of husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother that we all should strive to be. This love he had for his family, above all else, was his most amazing and magnificent quality. Ian was the devoted, faithful husband to Becky (Massey), the proud, spirited daddy to Ian Charles Seivwright (d.2009) and Amanda (Kris) Miller of Arlington, and the playful, energetic Granda to Ashtyn, Rowan, and Garan Miller of Arlington and Bryce Leggett of Bartlett. He was the loyal and caring son of William (d.2009) and Irene Seivwright of Brookfield, IL. Ian is also the brother of Irene (Mick) Quintrall of Alexandria, VA, Lenny (Joanne) Seivwright of Darien, IL, and William (Lorraine) Seivwright of Raeford, NC. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. March no more my soldier laddie. There is peace where there once was war.Sleep in peace my soldier laddie.
