Ida Epps Allen, 82, of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, peacefully passed on December 04, 2023. She was born on February 24, 1941. Ida will be remembered for her nurturing spirit and unwavering strength. She dedicated her life to selflessly serving her community and advocating for the underprivileged. Ida's compassionate nature touched countless lives, leaving a lasting impact on all those she encountered. Her legacy of kindness and resilience will forever inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her. Ida will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
Ida was a kind, fun-loving, generous lady who enjoyed singing, composing songs,writing poetry, sharing humorous stories and her favorite quote was: "Life is FUN." Those who knew her well often heard: "Speak for yourself," "That's how we roll," and most often, "All is well."
She lived a life of contentment. Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and several siblings, Ida leaves to cherish her memory: her sons John, Robert, James and Charles of Petersburg, VA; daughters Cynthia Pope, Barbara Johnson, and Lisa Allen of Petersburg, VA; her granddaughters Shanta, Shaneka, Simone, Ty'Asia, Ranishia, Shaniyah, and Crystal Allen; grandsons Doniel, Naheem, Jordan, Jason, and Robert II Allen; her sister Paige Edwards of Annapolis, MD; her brother, Arthur Epps of Chester, VA. A host of nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
Homegoing service will be held at First Baptist Church of Annapolis, December 2,2023 at 1 p.m. Family and friend are welcomed to fellowship and the address to be announced after the services.
