It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Idil Aden Hassan, age 96, of Fairfax, VA, passed away on October 15, 2023. She was born on July 14, 1927, in Mogadishu, Somalia. Idil Aden Hassan was a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Throughout her life, Idil was a devoted mother to five children. Ali Hassan, Abdi Hassan, Ahmed Hassan, Shamsa Hassan, Sahoor Abdikarim. Her love and care knew no bounds as she selflessly nurtured her children, providing them with guidance and support every step of the way. Her legacy lives on through the values she instilled in her children, shaping them into compassionate and admirable individuals.

Idil was also blessed with the joy of witnessing the growth of her sixteen grandchildren. Ali Jr, Ahmed Jr, Amina and Alia Hassan in addition to Ibrahim, Kareem, Abdullahi and Ayaan Hassan including Mustaf, Kadija, Kaha, Qamar, Madar and Magan Hassan Salad as well as Yasmine and Idil Abdikarim. 

Their laughter and energy brought immense happiness to her life, and she cherished each moment spent with them.Idil's love for her grandchildren was boundless, as she showered them with affection and adoration.

On October 15, 2023, Idil peacefully passed away in her sleep, surrounded by the memories of a life well-lived and the love of her family. Her departure leaves a void in our hearts, but we find solace in the knowledge that she has found eternal peace.

Idil will be remembered for her unwavering strength, her gentle spirit, and her profound love for her family. As we mourn her loss, we are grateful for the indelible impact she had on our lives, and we find comfort in the memories we shared with her

The Janazah Salah for Sister Idil Aden Hassan will be held on Monday, October 16, 2023, after Dhuhr Salat at 1:18 PM. Following the Janazah Salah, burial will take place at approximately 3:00 PM.

Idil Aden Hassan's family kindly requests your presence at the Salat al Janazah Salah at Dhuhr to honor her memory and pray for her eternal peace. Please remember her and her family in your duas during this difficult time.

In accordance with Islamic tradition, we say, "Truly, we are from Allah, and to Him we shall return." May Allah SWT accept her good deeds and grant her Jannatul Firdaus. May Allah (SWT) also grant her children and grandchildren patience and ease. Amen.
