Imogene was a servant. Raised in a strong Pentecostal faith. Her father a Pentecostal minister. She committed her life to her first family and God until she married in her mid 20's. Then Imogene married Gerald Bedwell and shared three children. Randall, the oldest, Timothy in the middle, and the baby, Christopher. Imogene cared for her family in the same home on the Eastside of Des Mones up to her death. After Gerald passed in the early 90's, Imogene shared 20 years with her dear friend Ben Mills until his death at age 95. She was member of many churches, the last church, one her father founded, Vine Street Gospel Chapel. Imogene loved to assemble with all her family and friends. Sharing coffee, food, and conversation with all that was willing. Her favorite topic, of course, was God, Jesus, and the word of life. Many cups of coffee and tables of food was shared over good conversation with all that knew her and came. She was a faithful servant. First to God, then to all she knew on earth. Her oldest son, Randall, passed a few months before she passed. Timothy and Christopher were with her at her end. She had many, many daughter-in-laws, which provided her with many, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. We will not be naming them all, sorry! Imogene attended East High School. She worked at IMT insurance, AMF manufacturing, and the Register & Tribune to name a few of her jobs. Imogene loved everyone, and everyone loved Imogene. Biblically she sat at her Lords feet and served God, on earth she did for her neighbor, serving all she could.
Luke 10:38 Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.
10:39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word.
10:40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.
10:41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:
10:42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
Mom was a servant, like both Martha and Mary.
Serving God & neighbor.
