Ingeborg D. MacLaneIngeborg D. MacLane, 92 passed away Saturday, December 5, 2015 in her home in West Lafayette. She was born on March 23, 1923, to Leopold and Wilhelmine Dinkel in Manheim Germany. In 1936 at 13 years of age she and her parents immigrated to America, settling in Norwalk Connecticut. After graduation from High School she entered nurses training and worked for several years as a Registered Nurse. In 1946 she was married to Gerald D. MacLane in Norwalk and in 1948 they moved to Houston Texas where her husband was a Math Professor at Rice University for 16 years. On July 1, 1964 they moved to West Lafayette where Mr. MacLane was a Math Professor at
Purdue University until his death on March 11, 1972. They were the parents of a daughter, Allison. Ingeborg very much enjoyed her home and was able to stay there with the help of her primary caregiver Jennifer Hoffman and Melvin & Eva Mohler who assisted her in various ways. A very special thanks to Jennifer for her kind and loving care. There are no immediate survivors. She is survived by her beloved dog, Barney and many other dear friends who assisted and befriended her during her lonely years, which she deeply appreciated. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband and daughter Allison. There will be no services. Inurnment will be at Grandview Cemetery. Soller-Baker Funeral Home, West Lafayette Chapel in charge of arrangements.
