Irene F. StickrothIrene F. Stickroth, 91, of Ohio Living Swan Creek passed away peacefully Monday, August 28, 2017, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Irene was born on October 4, 1925 in Bloomdale, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Elizabeth (Knavel) Brandeberry; seven siblings; son, Brent Hochradel; her first husband of 25 years, Ken Hochradel and husband of 37 years, Bruce Stickroth.Irene graduated from Arcadia High School in 1943 and from The Toledo Hospital School of Nursing in 1946. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Toledo, Ohio since 1974, which helped cultivate her strong spiritual foundation and her love of God. Nothing brought Irene greater joy than her family. This was always seen and felt in special gatherings she hosted at her home. Irene had a beautiful, compassionate, loving, giving spirit and was a blessing to anyone who met her. An avid sports fan, she especially enjoyed watching The Ohio State Buckeyes, Detroit Tigers and PGA golf. She also enjoyed bingo, euchre, visiting friends when they needed a prayer or a friendly smile, and reading the Toledo Blade.Irene is survived by children, Kim (Stephanie) Hochradel, Susan (Gary) Williams, Karen (Ron) Brown; stepchildren, Diane Stickroth, Mark (Sylvia) Stickroth, Matt (Betsy) Stickroth, Gregory Stickroth and Eric Stickroth; grandchildren, Derek, Heather (Donny), Kirsten (John), Clark (Viviana), Jared (Kim), Noelle, Lee Ann (Dan), Sharon (Brandon), Andy (Kimberly), Todd, Heather, Alyssa (Martin), Courtney (Eric), Melody (Denny), Mary (Jeff), Audrey, Matt, Janelle (Chris), Ian, Alex, Simon, Oliver, Annie, Brett and 18 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many dear friends, including her "sister", Ruth.Friends and relatives may visit at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, Toledo, Ohio on Friday, September 1, 2017 from 2 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 4560 Glendale Avenue, Toledo, Ohio 43614, where the family will receive friends starting at 10 a.m. Memorials may be given to Irene's beloved Trinity Lutheran Church or Ohio Living Swan Creek, 5916 Crestwood, Toledo, OH 43614.
