Irene FORSTER Obituary

Nov 28, 1955 - Nov 12, 2016

This obituary is administered by:
Irene Marie ForsterWe are deeply saddened by the loss of our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Irene unexpectedly passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at her home in Regina. Left to celebrate her life are her sons Jeffery and Brent (Deanna) and her very special friend Roy Ursu; grandchildren Kellen, Tenley and Emily Langford-Forster; brothers Ernie (Pat), Roy (Doreen), Reg (Elaine) and Jim (Linda). She was also loved by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and Godchildren. Irene was predeceased by her parents Frank and Helen Wagman. Irene was born on November 28, 1955 in Regina, SK. She grew up on a small dairy farm at St. Joseph's Colony with her four brothers. Irene had a love for sports and often spoke of her time with the Balgonie Tigerettes. Anyone who had the privilege of meeting Irene knew that her sense of humour and wit were second to none. Irene was very social and it was often said that you could hear Irene coming long before you could see her. On April 14, 1978 she married Gordon Russell Forster and from that marriage she had two beautiful boys who she adored with her whole heart. It was well known in our family that everyone had a nickname: Frank (Gammpy), Helen (Grossal), Ernie (Foldy), Roy (Kaiser), Reg (Charlie), Jim (Razor), Jeff (Johnny), Brent (Dickie), Raeleen (Mouse) and in some cases more then one, Irene (Goose, Renie, Molly). Renie (Molly) had a bigger heart then anyone could imagine. Every person who knew her knew she would drop anything and everything just to help a friend. Renie loved her job at RBC, especially the later years when she became a mortgage specialist. This love of her job was evident by the numerous awards she won throughout her career and the fact that she thought nothing of putting aside her plans with her family to help a first-time client achieve their dream of owning their own home. She will be truly missed by every life she touched. Whether dressed to the nines with her high heels on or in her gardening clothes, she had the amazing ability to make anyone smile with the crack of a joke or a clever quip. Dirty finger nails never fazed her because her father made sure at an early age she knew that getting your hands dirty were proof of an honest, hard day's work. She passed her love of gardening, music, and cooking on to her grandchildren. Thanks to Gram Gram their gardens will bloom and just like at Grandma's house their friends and family will never leave hungry. A huge heart and selfless soul has left us but we are thankful for the time we had however brief it may have been. One thing we know for sure, everyone that is with Molly at this moment will be enjoying great music, great food, and lots of laughter. There won't be a day that goes by that you won't be missed. You will forever be in our hearts Mom. Love you Renie (Molly). Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 18, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Balgonie, SK. Interment in St. Joseph's Colony Cemetery. Flowers most gratefully declined. Donations may be made in Irene's memory to Canadian Mental Health Association, 2702 - 12th Avenue Regina, SK S4T 1J2.
