Irene Lea White, 47Muncie - Irene Lea White, 47, passed away Friday, June 2, 2017 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital after a short illness.Irene was born on July 26, 1969 in Neptune, New Jersey, the daughter of John H. Lea Jr. and Harriet Bristow Lea. She was a 1987 graduate of Brick Township Memorial High School where she was a member of the drama club. Irene earned her associate's degree in equine studies from Johnson and Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island in 1989.Irene will be remembered for her affection and deep love first for the Lord and then for her family and friends. She was an avid gardener and made her home and gardens a beautiful place where she welcomed all. She loved all animals usually having a house full of pets over the years. A New Jersey transplant, she was always proud to call herself a "Jersey Girl."Irene was an active member of Gethsemane United Methodist Church where she sang in the Praise Band. She also served on the board ofInterlock of Delaware County.Irene was preceded in death by her parents, John and Harriet Lea; her parents-in-law, Raymond and Kathryn White; and her grandmothers, Margaret Jackson and Ruth Sergeant.Survivors include her husband of twenty-six years, Allen White and her children, Taylor, Megan, Riley and Ian, of Muncie; brother, John (Catherine) Lea of Arlington, Virginia; sister, Betsy (Brian) Quigley of Brandon, Vermont; sister-in-law, Polly White of Muncie; and nieces and nephews Shannon, Justin, Allison and Johnny Lea; Connor, Clairissa and Trevor Quigley; Katie (Chad) Schenkel; Christopher and Parker Lea; and Aiden Lincoln. Also surviving are her beloved pets, Sadie, Sully, Sassy and Wally.A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Gethsemane United Methodist Church located at 1201 West McGalliard Road.
