Irene Pummell, 92, of Wapakoneta passed away at 2:30 a.m., Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Lima Memorial Health System, Lima. Irene was born on April 16, 1925 in Logan County to William C. and Lois M. (Lenhart) Wagoner, who preceded her in death. On October 11, 1946, Irene married William K. Pummell, and he passed away on September 16, 1990.Survivors include five children, Max (Mary) Pummell of Huntsville, Larry D. Pummell of Wapakoneta, Vickie (Joe) Briggs of Bellefontaine, Rick Pummell of Wapakoneta and Cathy (Tim) Weber of Wapakoneta; 15 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter on the way; and a brother, Donald (Patty) Wagoner of Florida.Irene was preceded in death by a granddaughter, a great-granddaughter and a brother, Carl Max Wagoner.Irene graduated from Lakeview High School. She then worked at the Lima Army Tank Plant during WWII, DWG Cigar Factory, Lima and The Fisher Cheese Company, Wapakoneta. Irene was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Wapakoneta and the Uniopolis Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed puzzles, playing cards, sewing and most of all, spending time with her family.Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 3 at Schlosser Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Wapakoneta, with Pastor John Foster officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery, Moulton. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
