Iris Irene Benedict1931 - 2014Iris Irene Benedict, 83, of Bristol, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2014, at North Mississippi Medical Center.She was born on Feb. 26, 1931, to the late Phillip and Caroline Irene (Rosmann) Smith in Kenosha. She was educated in the schools of Kenosha and graduated from Bradford High School in 1949.On May 9, 1981, she married Delbert L. Benedict in Kenosha.Iris was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church.Iris enjoyed watching the Brewers and the Packers. She also enjoyed going to the games as often as she could. Most of all she loved being and spending time with her grandchildren.Iris is survived by her loving husband, Delbert of Bristol; her loving children, Clint (Sally) Strouf of Kenosha, Mary Ann (Mike) Whitley of Booneville, Miss., Jean (Tom) Turner of Booneville, Miss., Carol (Paul) Taylor of Memphis, Tenn., Julie (Larry) Barrett of Iuka, Miss., Brad (Jan) Benedict of Rockford, Ill., Larry Benedict of Wichita, Kan., Sharon Parker of Delavan, Wis., and Patricia (Brad) Coddington of Bristol; her grandchildren, Sherry (Rusty Sorenson) Strouf, Cindy Anderson, Jason (Deanna Hall) Whitley, Jennifer (Chris) Downs, Amy (Hunter) Dawson, Jeramy (Rebecca) Turner, Dale (Laura) Turner, Todd (Rhonda Williams) Turner, Kyle Turner, Ryan (Sara Raymond) Taylor, Joshua Taylor, Tyler Floyd, Michael Jon Valentine, Timothy Parker and Brandon Thompson; her great grandchildren, Hunter and Chase Downs, Noah Dawson, Nate and Ava Turner and Ethan and Luc Turner; and her brothers, Phillip Smith of Kenosha and Donald (Judy) Smith of Fairchild, Wis.She is preceded in death by a daughter Susan Valentine.A Mass of Christian Burial for Iris will be held on Friday, June 6, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Marys Catholic Church (corner of 39th Ave and 73rd St.). Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery.
