WOLCOTTVILLE — Iris D. "Ike" Dallas, 90, of Wolcottville, died Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born on July 17, 1923, in Wolcottville, Indiana, to George and Gladys (Gordon) Dallas. Ike was a farmer. He also ran a milk route in his younger days, drove semi-trucks and was a school bus driver. Many people would know him from his years of working at CARQUEST in LaGrange. He worked in customer service and parts delivery. Ike enjoyed his cats and feeding his birds. He was a member of the Rome City United Methodist Church. On July 17, 1948, he married Miriam Arlene Smith in Kendallville, IN. She preceded Ike in death on July 20, 2013. Surviving Ike are a daughter, Elaine Lambright of LaGrange; four grandchildren, Patrick "Shawn" (Nicole) Gonser of Wolcottville, Heather Neiman and her fiance, Mark Shaver, of Rome City, Brandon (Audra) Lambright of LaGrange and Koledon Lambright of Muncie, Indiana; five great grandchildren, Caitlyn and Cristyn Gonser, Hannah Lewis, Abigail and Aidon Lambright; and one great-great grandchild, Silas Gonser. Ike was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his sister, Julia Kelley. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2014, at the Frurip-May Funeral Home, 309 W. Michigan St., LaGrange. The Rev. Kevin Brower will officiate. Burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery, LaGrange. A visitation will take place at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 a.m. until service time. Memorials may be contributed to the Rome City United Methodist Church.
