August 5, 1928 - September 11, 2015 "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog." Mark Twain Irvin X. Rosen passed away peacefully on September 11, 2015, at his home in Prescott, Arizona, surrounded by his children, family and friends. Irv was 87 years old. Irv was born on August 5, 1928, in St. Louis, MO to Samuel and Fannie Rosen and was one of five siblings. Irv graduated from Garfield High School in Los Angeles, and then went on to earn his Bachelor of Science and a Masters in Business Administration from
UCLA, graduating in 1951. Irv served during the
Korean War in the
United States Marine Corps, stationed at Cherry Point Marine Corps Base, North Carolina and Treasure Island, San Francisco, California, where he built and repaired military radio transmission equipment. In 1953, Irv joined the family business', Rosen's Electrical Equipment Co, and Samuel Rosen & Sons, and became the company's Chief Financial Officer and Managing Partner, until his passing. His keen business sense was instrumental in creating new business lines, including strategic purchasing of commercial property and growing the investment arm of business. Irv was married to Jetta (Erlick) and had three children. He was widowed in 1976; re-married to Lynne (Seavert Capper) 1978, and widowed again in 2012. Irv will be remembered most for his precise, quiet, fair nature, his superior business acumen, kind heart, and easy smile, his very unique sense of humor, and his undying obligation to his entire family. Irv was preceded in death by his two wives, Jetta Rosen, Lynne Rosen, his youngest daughter, Renee Rosen (VanDyk), and grandson, Christopher Hinckley. He is survived by his loving children, son David Rosen, and daughter, Margo Rosen and daughter-in-law Katy Johnson, grandson Phillip Hinckley, and granddaughter Alex Rosen. He is also survived by his loving family, sister, Ann Resnikoff, William Rosen, Allen Rosen, Marvin Rosen and eleven nephews and nieces. Irv will be buried alongside his loving wife of 37 year, Lynne, in Prescott, AZ. Jewish Services and funeral held September 17, 2015 at the Heritage Memorial Gardens, Fain Road, Dewey, AZ.
