MONTGOMERY, Iva Rue "Rue" Iva Rue (Rue) Montgomery, age 95, passed away on July 29, 2017. She was born on December 1, 1921 to Albert and Maybelle Moore. She was one of eight children and grew up in Briggs, Texas. She married Ernest Montgomery, and together they raised two sons, Phillip and Mark. Iva Rue and Ernest were longtime Austin residents and, for many years, owned Rues Antiques. Iva Rue considered her siblings her best friends, Ernest her true love, and her life a great adventure. She attended Woodlawn Baptist church and was unwavering in her faith. She was a wonderful wife and mother, a good business woman, a master of projects, and never backed away from a challenge. And, her great loving nature created close, enduring relationships. She leaves behind her two sons and their families, a sister, Bennie Wimberley, and many friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 2 from 5:00-7:30 PM and funeral services will be Thursday, August 3 at 10:00 at Weed-Corley-Fish, 3125 N Lamar, Austin, Texas.
