Mrs. Iva Swain Leewright, 88, died Saturday, October 3, 2015, at Brandon Hospital in Brandon, Florida, from an extended illness. She was born on November5, 1926, in Van, Texas. Mrs. Leewright was an Elementary School Teacher in Lake City, Florida for 22 years from 1970 through 1992. Prior to her teaching career, she was a homemaker, traveling and living at various Air Force Base locations throughout the Country and overseas with her husband, who was a Major in the Air Force. While living in Lake City, she was a member of the Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, and then became a member of the Saint Andrews United Methodist Church in Brandon, Florida. Mrs. Leewright was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joe Glenn Leewright, Sr. Survivors include her daughter, Teresa Leewright Davis of Lithia, Florida, Joe Glenn Leewright, Jr., of Rock Island, Tennessee, and Mark Leewright of Waco, Texas. She had seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 11:00am in the chapel of Guerry Funeral Home 2659 SW Main Blvd, Lake City, Florida. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. www.guerryfuneralhome.net
