Ivan Edward "Mac" McHenry1920 - 2015Ivan "Mac" McHenry, 95, of Canon City, Colo., formerly of Kenosha passed away on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015, at Canon Lodge Care Center. Mac was born on Jan 31, 1920, in Flora, Ill., to the late George and Emma McHenry. He stayed in Flora until he enlisted in a military branch of the Army/Air Force during WWII. He was stationed in Laredo, Tex., where he met and married Marcella (Marcie) Young on January 1, 1944. They lived in Laredo until his enlistment ended and moved to Washington Island, Wis., where Marcie grew up. Mac and Marcie later moved to Kenosha where Mac worked for American Motors and later retired as head painter for St. Catherine's Hospital. He and Marcie moved to Canon City, Colo., in 1982 where they spent time together doing swap meets and also opened a second hand store that was very successful and gave them years of enjoyment. Mac was the youngest of 11 children and the only surviving sibling at the time of his death. Surviving are his daughters, Patricia M. Quarders of Mineral Wells, Tex., Bonnie L. (Clord) Adolf of Show Low, Ariz., and daughter-in-law, Mardell McHenry of Kenosha; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife Marcie on Dec. 25, 1996; his son, Edward "Edd" on March 28, 2005; and a grandson, Kurt Gibney on April 17, 2012. Interment for Ivan "Mac" will take place at the Washington Island, Wis., cemetery at a later date.
