Hayden, age 88 of John Street in Heuvelton passed away on Monday July 24, 2017 at his home under the care of his family and Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley.A celebration of Life service will be held in the fall at the United Methodist Church in Hinesburg, VT.Surviving are his children John (Michelle) Hayden of Wallkill NY, Joseph (Kyong-He) Hayden of San Antonio TX, Donna (Walter) Ballard of Heuvelton, Arlene (John) Kummer of Winchester VA, Angela Bailey of Springfield VA; a brother Raymond Hayden of Essex Junction VT; "forever young and fun sister" Nina Sprano of Hinesburg VT; grandchildren Corwin Hayden, Colin Hayden, Caitlin Hayden, Michael Hayden, Mark Hayden, Christopher Hayden, Amy Wing, Walter Ballard III, Sarah Tooley, David Kummer & Matthew Kummer; great-grandchildren Colin, Timothy, Liam, Rachel, Rebecca, Rylee, Rori and Lilly Cara.He was predeceased by his son Clayton in 2015, a brother Lyle & his wife Pearl, two sisters Evelyn Brace & her husband Reed & Avis Bessette; a sister-in-law Alice Hayden and son-in-law John Bailey.Ivan was born on March 6, 1929 in Hinesburg VT, a son of the late Archibald & Hazel (Atherton) Hayden. He attended Hinesburg High School and later married Lillian Mae Place on November 4, 1950. During his career he was employed at Brunetto Cheese Company in Beacon NY for 25 years and then relocated to Heuvelton where he began working at Losurdo Cheese in Heuvelton until his retirement in 1991.Ivan attended the Cornerstone Wesleyan Church and enjoyed playing horseshoes, cards, attending Daniel O'Donnell concerts and gardening.
