Ivanell Bates BakerJackson, TNMrs. Nell Bates Baker, age 87 of Jackson, passed away on Thursday morning, September 8, 2016 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.She was born on July 2, 1929 in Crockett County, TN to the late Otis and Ettie Bates. She was a member of Meridian Baptist Church where she taught the same Sunday School class for 35 years. She loved her family, friends, church, and Lord.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Baker; sisters Maydell York and Marybell Young; and two brothers, Lester Bates and Chester Bates.She is survived by her daughters, Sherri Wilson, Diane Daniels (Scotty), and Carol Gilliam (Raymond); grandchildren, Angela Edwards (Jayson), Zachary Daniels (Allison), Wesley Daniels (Candice), and Heather Gilliam; great grandchildren, Madalyn Edwards, Stone Daniels, Elizabeth Daniels, Anna Jane Daniels, and Neyland Daniels; and one brother, Ray Bates.The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon, September 11, 2016 from 1-3 p.m. at Meridian Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. at Meridian Baptist Church with Bro. John Enoch officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.Pallbearers to serve will be Wayne Williams, Jimmy Mullins, Ethan Mullins, Will Mullins, Jerry Wilson, and Charles Boone.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to Meridian Baptist Church.George A.
