It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ivonne Silva, born on January 22, 1953, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, who peacefully left us on April 2, 2023, surrounded by her beloved family and friends.
Ivonne was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and loyal friend to many. She will always be remembered for her kind heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Ivonne was an exceptional human being who touched the lives of everyone she met, and she will be greatly missed.
Ivonne was born and raised in Toronto, where she spent most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Ricardo and Carmen Silva, and sister to the late Luis Silva. Ivonne grew up in a close-knit family and attended local schools. She graduated from the University of Toronto with a degree in social work and became a passionate advocate for those in need.
Throughout her career, Ivonne worked tirelessly to provide support and assistance to people from all walks of life. She worked for various non-profit organizations, providing valuable services to individuals and families in need. Ivonne's dedication and hard work earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and clients alike.
In her personal life, Ivonne was devoted to her family. She married her high school sweetheart, Miguel, and they raised three wonderful children together. Ivonne loved spending time with her family and friends, and she was always the life of the party. Her infectious laugh and positive attitude never failed to lift the spirits of those around her.
Throughout her life, Ivonne was an active member of her community. She volunteered at local schools, churches, and community centers, always giving her time and energy to help others. Ivonne was a devout Catholic and found comfort and solace in her faith.
Ivonne's passing is a great loss to all who knew her. She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Miguel Silva; her children, Ricardo, Carmen and Miguel Jr.; her grandchildren, Lucas, Isabella, Sophia, and Mateo; her brothers, Carlos and Jorge; her sister-in-law, Maria Silva; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, April 10th, at 11:00 am, at St. Michael's Cathedral Basilica in Toronto, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in Ivonne's memory.
Ivonne touched the lives of many, and her spirit will live on in the memories of all who knew her. She will be dearly missed, but her legacy of love, kindness, and compassion will forever endure.
