Dave Rabon, 77, passed away on April 11, 2017. He was born on January 9, 1940. Dave graduated from FSU in 1963 and in retirement always wore an FSU baseball cap whenever he was outside as testament of his Seminole pride. He had a long and successful career with the Florida Department of Insurance serving in various capacities before retiring from state government in 2009. Not one to relax during retirement, he joined the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and spent many Saturdays performing boat inspections and educating boaters about boating safety.Dave was married to his wife, Annette, for over 54 years. They have two daughters and two son-in-laws, Renn and Rob Vickers and Lana and Lamar Taylor, all of Tallahassee. His four grandchildren, Ansley Vickers, Jack Taylor, Olivia Vickers and Aaron Taylor, were his pride and joy. Many hours were spent with their granddad at the beach house on St. George Island, recitals and concerts, the ball field and Sunday night family dinners.Dave is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ruth Rabon, and his three brothers, Bob, Jim and Bill. Dave is survived by his four sisters, Marilyn, Betty Ruth, Alice and Annece and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 14, 2017 at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home with a memorial service to follow at noon.
