ANDOVER-Cypret, Jack A. 88, went to his eternal rest on Wednesday, February 3, 2016. Jack was born on November 4, 1927 in Eureka, KS, to Thomas 'Jeff' and Treva (Lewis) Cypret. He served in the U.S. Navy for 21 years as a Combat Air Crewman and ASW Tech during WWII, Korea and Vietnam from 1945 to 1966. During this time he lived in Bermuda and many other places along the east coast. Jack served aboard the USS WASP, had tours all over Europe, and escorted the removal of missiles during the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962. After retiring from the Navy, Jack worked an additional 23 years at Beechcraft in the avionics department. During retirement Jack enjoyed woodworking and doing odd jobs. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 55 years, Doris Eula (Newsom) Cypret; and brother, Darold Cypret. Survivors include daughter, Debbie (Jerry) Ciucyk; brother, Sam (Chris); grandchildren, Jennie (Mike) Keating, Nick Ciucyk; great-grandchildren, Brecken and Ella. Visitation: 1-3 p.m. Sunday, February 7, at Lakeview. Funeral service: 1 p.m. Monday, February 8, at Hope Community Church. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kansas Honor Flight, P.O. Box 2371, Hutchinson, KS 67504.
