Jack Lavern Conklin, Sr. WEST COLUMBIA - Jack Lavern Conklin, Sr., 84, of West Columbia passed away Sunday, July 30, 2017. He was born on July 31, 1932 in Milford, Michigan to the late Earl and Mary Mack Conklin. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Edna Gilpatrick. Jack was a faithful member of Faith Lutheran Church in West Columbia. He proudly served in the Korean War and loved to travel. Jack is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy R. Conklin; son, Jack Conklin Jr. (Tamara); daughter, Carol Hartmann; step sons, Gary Hooker (Tina) and Tony Hooker (Brenda); sister, Birdie George, 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Faith Lutheran Church on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends an hour prior in the Fellowship Hall. Burial will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family.
