Mr. Jack Dale Gardner, Sr., age 85, of Oakland Park, Florida passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2016. Jack was born on August 5, 1931 in Columbus, Ohio, a son to the late James Edward and Gladys Marie Blocker Gardner. Jack proudly served his country in the US Navy and met the love of his life, Patty Jo King Gardner. After marrying Patty, Jack became an electrician. He went on to work for the City of Fort Lauderdale where he served as the Chief Electrical Inspector after he obtained his Masters at the age of 65. He also is a life long member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church where he served as an Alter server for 20 plus years. After Jacks retirement you could find him watching his westerns, drinking his coffee and telling jokes. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Patty Jo Gardner; children, Jack Dale Gardner, Jr., Jesse Edward Gardner, Deborah Ann (Deacon Mike Miller), Melissa Lynn Gardner; grandchildren, Deven James Miller, Justin Richard Miller, Samantha Mellyn Gardner, Ryan Gardner, Samantha Gardner, Rebecca and Trent Gardner; 6 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. The family will receive friends at Kalis-McIntee Funeral Home, 2505 N. Dixie Highway, Wilton Manors, FL on Monday, December 12, 2016 from 6:00-8:00pm. A prayer vigil will be held Monday night at 7:30pm and led by Deacon Mike Miller. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at 10:00am at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Father Bob Tywoniak, presiding.
