Jack L. "Jack" Temple, Jr.Jack Temple, 87, a resident of White Oak Health Campus in Monticello passed away on Oct. 21, 2015. Jack was born on June 6, 1928 in Carroll County, Indiana to the late John L. Temple, Sr., and Sylvia Ann (Galloway) Temple. Jack graduated from Adams Township in 1946. He graduated Western Pennsylvania Horological Institute for Watchmaking in 1947 and received his Electronics Degree from DeVry Technical Institute in Chicago. He had held a private pilot's license for many years.He married Dorothy Landis on Sept. 1, 1948 and she preceded him on Nov. 8, 1987.He served in the United States Air Force during the
Korean War. He served from 1951-1955.Before his retirement in 1978, Mr. Temple had worked as a watchmaker and did electronic work & Heating and A/C repair. After his retirement they wintered in Largo, Florida and summered in Indiana and permanently moved to Largo in 1998.Jack was a member of the Lockport Church, the Burnettsville Masonic Lodge, and the Carroll County Historical Society. He also was a member of the Largo United Methodist Church, Largo, FL. He enjoyed rebuilding autos, especially corvettes, doing television and radio repair and repairing watches.Jack is survived by his brother, Steven Temple (wife: Linda) of Logansport; sister, Carol Lou Temple Wilson of Noblesville; brother-in-law, Jim Landis (wife: Linda) of Lafontaine; sister-in-law, Lois Beck of Logansport; several nieces & nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Along with his parents and wife, Dorothy, he was preceded by his brother, Tom and his wife, Carol Temple; and brothers-in-law, Jesse Wilson, Herb Beck and Bill Landis.Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the 2:00 p.m. funeral service at Lockport Church in rural Carroll County on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015, Pastor Nord Zootman will officiate. Burial will be in Seceder Cemetery in rural Carroll County.
