Jack C. Lindgren1933 - 2014Jack C. Lindgren, 80, of Racine, formerly of Kenosha, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at his home. Jack was born on April 25, 1933, in Chicago to Charles and Mamie (Peterson) Lindgren. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Jack married Nancy Jones in Chicago, Ill., and they were married for over 20 years until they separated in 1975. He started his career driving truck for the Chicago Tribune while in Chicago. Jack then moved to Kenosha where he owned the Washington Island Fish Market and the Cherry Bounce Tavern. He also owned Crabby Jacks Restaurant and Lindgrens Cottages on Washington Island in Door County. One of his greatest joys of owning his own businesses was interacting with the many different people, some of whom became his lifelong friends. He enjoyed working outdoors especially on his riding mower to keep his lawn immaculate at the Lindgrens Cottages in Door County, where he spent his summers.He was preceded in death by, his parents; his son, Steven Lindgren and his grandson, Jim Jr.Jack is survived by, four children, Jim Lindgren of Racine, Marilyn Jensen of Sister Bay, Wis., Jack Lindgren and Tom (Marge) Lindgren both of Kenosha; daughter-in-law, Darlene Lindgren of Fond du Lac; four grandchildren, Scott, Heather, Ashley and Nicole; four great grandchildren; his longtime companion, Grace Johnson; his cousin, Kay Bordeau, as well as many friends.A visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2014, at the Hansen-Lendman Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Bethel Church (1821 Main Road, Washington Island, WI 54246), where a service will take place at a later date, would be greatly appreciated.
