Jack M. KightGreenvilleJack M. Kight of Greenville, SC, 84, husband of Barbara Klecz Kight, passed away and was reunited with Jesus on Monday, Nov 7, 2016. Jack was born on July 8, 1932 in Oakland, MD and was the only child of the late Charles Melvin and Helen Umstot Kight. Jack served in the US Army during the
Korean War for 2 years and was stationed in Korea. When he returned, he studied at Univ. of Maryland, where he received a BS in Chemical Engineering. Through the years, he worked for Union Carbide, Abbott Laboratories, Johnson & Johnson, Cryovac, Graham Engineering, and Solvay Industrial Films as a plastics engineer. He also held several patents in the plastics field.Jack and Barbara had 2 children, 7 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. They were members of Mitchell Road Pres. Church and split their retirement years between Greenville and their lakehouse in Maryland.Jack was a member of the Wade Hampton Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Knight's Templar, and OES, as well as the LaPorte, Indiana
Rotary Club. Jack loved the Lord, his family, Deep Creek Lake, his Masonic responsibilities, singing in the church choir, studying genealogy, reading, and politics. He was known for loving Jesus and others, his sense of humor, and being kind, faithful, and honest. Surviving are wife Barbara of 53 years, son Jeff (wife Ellen) of Florida, daughter Suzanne (husband Paul Rutherford) of Michigan; grandchildren Daniel (wife Olivia), Andrew, Jonathan, Nathan, and David Kight; Jack and Natalie Rutherford; great grandchildren Juniper and Cyrus Kight. Visitation is Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016 from 2-3pm at Mitchell Road Pres. Church in Greenville, with a memorial service at 3pm. Memorials may be made to Mitchell Road Pres.
