Jack Nickell, 82, of Blackfoot, passed away on Sunday April 30, 2017 at his home.Jack was born on Sept. 20, 1934 in Roberts, Idaho to Claytie Marie and William Lee Nickell.He has lived in Roberts, Idaho; Newport, Rhode Island; Wilmington, California; and Blackfoot, Idaho.He graduated from Banning High School, and later married Mary Rose Nickell on July 5, 1956 in Los Angeles. Together they had three children; Jack, Natalie, and James.Jack was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served as a Cub Scout Master.He worked at Simplot Soil Builders as a Millwright.He loved to spend time with his family snowmobiling, camping, and RV-ing.Jack is survived by his wife, Mary Rose Nickell; his children, Jack Steven (Lynette Kunz) Nickell, Natalie Nickell (Angelo) Gonzales, James C. (Joanna Goodenough) Nickell; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.He is preceded in death by his parents, Claytie Marie and William Lee Nickell; sister, Florence; and brothers, Hal, Bob, Gene, Kenneth, Bill and Bryce.A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 5 at Hawker Funeral Home at 2 p.m. and a one hour visitation prior.Condolences may be sent to the family at www.hawkerfuneralhome.com
