SmithBucyrus: Jack L. Smith age 79 of Bucyrus and formerly of Upper Sandusky, died after a long battle of Alzheimers on Saturday September 9, 2017 at 12:34pm in Fairhaven Community. He was born on January 20, 1938 in Wyandot County to Fred I. & Thelma Mae (Kingery) Smith. He married Diane Swisher on October 30, 1970 and Mrs. Smith survives in Bucyrus. Jack is also survived by a daughter Amy of Lima, sisters Juanita (Thomas) Zeigler of Upper Sandusky and Doris Martin of Plant City, FL. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by four brothers Fred, Ray, Ernest, Denver Smith and sister Nellie Snyder."Jolly" Jack started his bowling career setting pins at Wyandot Lanes from 1954-1957. Jack graduated in 1957 from Upper Sandusky High School. After graduation he moved to Bucyrus and was the manger at Crawford Lanes for several years. In 1971 he came back to Wyandot Lanes as the manger and in 1992 he became the owner/proprietor of Wyandot Lanes until his retirement. He served as an officer in the bowling proprietor's Association. In 1967 he won the Bill Rahm Invitational Tournament in Bucyrus. In 1971 he was the runner up. He enjoyed fishing and going on several Canadian fishing trips. His passions in life was his daughter Amy, fishing and bowling.Family and friends may gather on Wednesday September 13, 2017 from 5pm-7pm in Bringman Clark Funeral Home. Words of remembrance will start at 7pm at the funeral home with Pastor Becky King officiating.
