Jack W. Duckett Sr.GALLUP, N.M. - Services for Jack W. Duckett Sr., 81, will be at 2 p.m. April 15, 2011, at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Todd Riebe officiating. www.stegallberheideorr.com. Duckett died April 9, 2011, in Gallup, N.M. He was born on March 2, 1930, in College Corner, Ohio. He called Richmond, Ind., his hometown. He was a professional boxer and was a three-time Golden Gloves Champion in 1948, '49 and '50. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954-1958 and served in the Panama Canal. He moved to Gallup in 1958 to work for Chief Oil Co. He later worked for Navajo Motors, and then became an owner of the Manhattan Bar, and later the Village Lounge. He was also in the Indian jewelry business for 25 years. He raced stock cars from the time he was 16 years old until the age of 70. He loved watching NASCAR, was an avid car collector, and he loved to fish, travel in his RV, and listen to Elvis Presley and Patsy Cline music. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Phyllis Duckett of Gallup; sons, Jack Jr. (Linda), Tom (Michelle), Richard (Vanessa), and Brian, all of Gallup, Lewis ("Raffy") and Bruce (Terry) of Mesa, Ariz.; daughters, Donna (David) Stirling of Albuquerque, Debbie (Julian) Upshaw and Tina (Robert) Griego, both of Gallup; sister, Betty Shinn of Williamsburg, Ind.; 28 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Duckett was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Sally Hensley; Tilman and Ida Duckett; parents, Donald and Cuba Duckett; brothers, Lewis Duckett , Billy Duckett and& John Duckett. Pallbearers will be Jack Jr., Lewis, Bruce, Tom, Richard and Brian Duckett.
