Jackie W. Owens was born on Jan. 8, 1959 in Jellico to I.J. and the late Helen Gilburth Owens. Jackie went home to be with the Lord on Jan, 5, he passed away at his residence. Jackie was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Gilburth Owens; grandparents, Wolford and Nona Owens; Charlie and Gladys Gilburth. Jackie is survived by his wife, Barbara Owens; father, I.J. Owens and wife Linda; of Williamsburg, Ky.; children, Chris Owens and wife, Rebecca and Janet Turner all of Williamsburg, Ky.; three grandchildren, Savannah Turner and fiancŽ, Parker Hoover; Whitney Owens and Zach Owens all of Williamsburg, Ky.; mother-in-law, Mary Anderson; step-brother, Rick Carr; step-sister, Velvet Carr; uncle, Arnold Owens; cousins, Debbie and Tony Owens; special friends, Joe Broadwell; Bobby Rutherford and Blake Rutherford and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.Jackie was a member of the Boston Baptist Church and he worked for the Jellico Electric and Water System for 37 serving as Chief Operating Officer. Jackie was an avid Tennessee fan.Services were held Jan. 9 at the Llewellyn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Marty Bramble officiating. Interment was in Clear Fork Cemetery.Llewellyn Funeral Home of Jellico was in charge of arrangements.
