Jacqueline Allen Hyden1925 - 2013Providence - Jacqueline Allen Hyden, 87, passed away on Dec. 6, 2013, in Yuma, Arizona. She was born on Dec. 28, 1925, in Cove, Utah, to Marion Elijah Allen and Georgia Merrill Allen. She was the eldest of their three children and grew up in Richmond, Utah. She graduated from Ogden High School and attended college at Utah State University where she received a degree in teaching. Jacqueline married Cecil Juan Hyden in Jan. 1947 and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple in 1949. They were happily married for 52 years before Cecil passed away in Sept. 1999. She worked part-time as a substitute teacher for the Cache County and Logan City School District off and on for many years. Her primary job was as a housewife and mother to her six children. Jacqueline was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and proudly served her church callings. She was member of the American Legion Auxiliary and enjoyed volunteering at the ALA Girls State Programs for many years. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and was instrumental in the formation of the Bear River Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed researching her family history and shared her love of genealogy with others. She loved quilting and made sure that all her children and grandchildren had a wonderful handmade quilt. She was a serious collector of cups and saucers and displayed them beautifully throughout her home. She had an amazing skill of knowing the story that went with each set in her collection. Jacqueline was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil; her brother, Marion Merrill Allen; her three sons, Sydney, Ross, and Kyle; her grandson, Jeffry; and her great-granddaughter, Kiersten Faith.Jacqueline is survived by her sister, Susanna (Blaine) Taggart and sister-in-law, Viola Mary (Marion) Allen; her children: Lex (Beverly) Hyden of Tremonton, Utah; Seth (Terry) Hyden of Keizer, Oregon; and Maren (Randy) Harris of Garland, Utah; and her 24 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren, two daughters-in-law, Marilyn (Ross) Hyden, Providence; Shauna (Kyle) Hyden, Orem and a special companion, Roscoe Perry.Funeral services will be held for Jacqueline at the LDS Cobblestone 2nd Ward Chapel, 420 W. 100 North, Providence, Utah at 11 a.m., on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013. A viewing will be held at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center Street, Logan, from 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday, Dec. 11 and also at the church on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 am.
