Jacqueline Ruth Krone 1926 - 2016Jacqueline Ruth Krone, 90, of New Berlin, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday November 16, 2016 at St. John's Hospital. She was born on June 16, 1926 in Revere, Massachusetts to Thomas and Ruth Happney Whynot. Jacqueline married Emil F. "Butch" Krone, Jr. on December 1, 1962 in Springfield and he preceded her in death on June 23, 2013.Mrs. Krone is survived by her son Emil Frank (Jane) Krone III of New Berlin, her grandson Derek Day also of New Berlin, two sister-in-laws Mary Krone and Eunie Krone, several nieces and nephews and her beloved dogs: Scooter, Lucy, and Brutis. She was preceded in death by her sister Gladys "Gaye" Zuehlke.Jacqueline graduated from Springfield College in Illinois and The University of Illinois with a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry and Mathematics in 1948. While studying at the U of I she had a professor who "did not pass women" but used that as a challenge to prove him wrong. Upon graduating from Illinois Mrs. Krone worked at Franklin Life Insurance Company retiring after thirty years of service as the Senior Regulatory Analyst with the Legal Department. While at Franklin Life she was the youngest recipient of the LOMA Fellowship Award. Jacquie married a farmer and was actively involved with farming and also volunteered with The Home Extension of Sangamon County. She enjoyed traveling, owning and operating Yesterday's Treasures at Lisa's Antique Mall II in Auburn and she was a master seamstress. She was a member of the Land of Lincoln Depression Glass Club, the 35MM Camera Club and Historic Grace Lutheran Church.A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Monday November 21, 2016 at Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 Koke Mill Road, with Rev. Thomas B. Christell of Historic Grace Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 2:00-4:00pm Sunday at Bisch West.
