Jacqueline L. (Dinehart, Kiesel) Schafer Age 75, of Tacoma, Washington, passed away Thursday, January 26th, 2017. On this morning, the prettiest flower was picked from our garden. Jacque was born on October 22nd, 1941 in Tacoma, Washington, the daughter of Neal and Carrie (Barnstable) Dinehart. She was the youngest of seven children. Jacque worked at Peerless Laundry & Linen Supply, the American Red Cross - Transportation, and for more than 20 years as a florist with her daughter, Kari Otis, at Orting Floral and Greenhouse. Her talent for always finding the perfect plant to place in her container garden creations will never be beat. Her love of gardening continued at her home, and was truly her refuge as it provided her an opportunity to feed her favorite blue jays and squirrels. She also loved making pickles, painting, puzzles and reading a good mystery. Her greatest treasures were her children and grandchildren. Jacque wasn't just our mother, our father, a friend, she was our everything. She was the first person to call when you had a great joke to share or you just needed reassurance about something in your life. She was an amazing, truly one of a kind person who was loved and her presence will be missed by many. She is survived by her three children: Kari (Mike) Otis of Puyallup, WA, Joe (Sandra) Schafer of Puyallup, WA, and John Schafer, Davenport, IA; five grandchildren: Amanda Otis, Hunter, Sierra, Tyler and Parker Schafer and one great grandchild on the way; sister Lillian Ybarra, Tacoma, WA and brother, James (Bonnie) Dinehart, Coupeville, WA and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters Pearl Dickson, Dorothy Carr, Josephine Caldon, her brother, Lee Dinehart, and her parents. A celebration of life will be held at 1 pm on Monday, February 20th, at Mountain View Funeral Home.
