Jacquelyn (Jackie) MeadowsJackson, MsWith her family by her side, Jacquelyn (Jackie) Beatty Meadows passed away on August 30, 2017, at Baptist Hospital following a brief stay. Jackie was born on September 10, 1932 in Jackson, TN. She was the daughter of Jack and Mary Williams Beatty. She graduated from Jackson High and attended Union University where she was a member of Chi Omega sorority. Jackie moved to Jackson, Mississippi in 1955 where she enjoyed a 30 year career with The State of Mississippi Motor Vehicle Department and later the State Tax Commission. She has been an devoted member of Christ United Methodist Church for the past 33 years. Jackie also enjoyed going to the movies, shopping, her exercise class and crossword puzzles, but what she loved most was spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Michael Beatty Payton, and her husband James Bernell Meadows. Jackie is survived by her daughters Kay Payton and Jamie Meadows Carpenter (Bert), as well as her grandchildren Beatty and Tad Carpenter. Visitation will be from 2:00-3:00 PM, Tuesday, September 5, 2017, with a memorial service immediately following at Parkway Funeral Home, located at 1161 Highland Colony Parkway, Ridgeland, MS 39157. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Joy group or Missions Disaster Fund, Christ United Methodist Church.
