Jameel N. SaakirYorkJameel Nasir Saahir aka as Benjamin "Benny" L. Nolden, 72, passed away Wednesday evening, January 6, 2016, at Rest Haven Nursing Home in York. He was the husband of Annie Ruth (Johnson) Saahir, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage.Jameel was born on August 11, 1943, in Fawn Grove (Muddy Creek) to the late(s) Charles and Jeannette (Jiles) Nolden. Jameel was educated through the York City School System and a graduate of William Penn Sr. High School.Jameel was a retiree of Harley-Davidson, formerly AMF and he also worked for American Chain & Cable. He was an avid rider of his motorcycle and bicycle, he loved weight lifting and going to the gym. Jameel was the owner and operator of Jameel Seafood Truck.In addition to his loving wife Annie, he leaves to mourn his loss, but cherish his memory, a son, Rashad R. Saahir; two daughters, Jameelah S. Newby (Zachary) and Cleopatra H. Saahir-Nelson; two brothers, Richard Nolden (Dawn) and Norman Nolden (Jeannette); a sister, Elizabeth Clemmons; in-laws, Earl Johnson (Joyce), Vylaria James, Virginia Walker, Gloria Brown (Wally) and Vernell Ferrell (Mike); eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.Jameel was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Joseph, Russell, Leroy, Mike, John and Theodore Nolden; and two sisters, Margaret and Helen Murray.Jameel was laid to rest in Prospect Hill Cemetery, York, on Saturday, January 9, 2016.Boulding Mortuary Inc. handled arrangements.
