James Cook, beloved husband, father, and self-proclaimed master mechanic, passed away on September 3, 2024 in North Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born on June 25, 1965 to Jerry and Bobbie Jean Cook, who never could have predicted the trouble he would cause with a wrench in his hand.
After graduating from Valley High School in 1983, James pursued his passion for tinkering with engines and eventually became his own boss, and started Jimmy James Auto Shop. Although his methods were often unorthodox, his dedication to his craft was unwavering.
James leaves behind a legacy of questionable DIY projects, countless unfinished home improvement tasks, and a garage full of rusty tools that may or may not have been used properly. Oh yeah, who could forget the car jokes he told anytime he had company around? Despite his mechanical mishaps, or funnyless jokes he was a loving father to Jennifer, Jason, and Janice, who will forever cherish memories of his attempts to fix things around the house.
James is survived by his wife, children, six grandchildren, and a host of nieces/nephews, who will never forget the sound of his beloved toolbox being dragged across the garage floor at all hours of the night, or his unique laugh whenever he told a joke. He will truly be missed by all.
Rest in peace, James. May you finally find a bolt that fits just right in the great workshop in the sky.
